    What is executive protection?

Executive protection (EP) is a comprehensive personal security programme for senior corporate executives — typically C-suite, board members, or high-net-worth individuals — that integrates close protection, travel security, residential security, cyber and communications security, and intelligence-led threat assessment into a continuous security posture rather than a reactive, event-by-event service.

How executive protection differs from standard close protection

Standard close protection is typically episodic — a CPO deployed for a specific event, journey, or period of elevated risk. Executive protection is a sustained programme that covers all aspects of an executive's security posture, including the residential environment, family security considerations, digital and communications security, and ongoing threat intelligence monitoring.

An EP programme begins with a comprehensive threat assessment that evaluates the executive's specific risk profile: their public visibility, industry, nationality, the sensitivity of their organisation's work, any specific threat intelligence, and their current security gaps. This assessment drives a security specification that is proportionate to the actual threat rather than the assumed level of status.

Ongoing EP programmes include regular threat reassessments as the executive's role, public profile, or threat environment changes, periodic security reviews of residential and office environments, travel security management for all business travel, and intelligence monitoring for indications of emerging targeting activity.
